"IT'S THE FEELING ... EVERYTIME YOU ENTER THE ROOM"
©2010 Michael O'Neill Interiors
A late fifties tri-level this home was constructed by a contractor/developer for his own family. Starting with modest proportions it was designed to grow with the family by anticipating future additions and "bump outs".
Pride of ownership is evident in the skilled craftmanship of custom cabinetry and use of sustainable materials such as stone, brick and solid oak flooring. This has enabled refurbishing rather than replacing these items. As always, color played an important role in this renovation. Wall to wall carpeting was removed to reveal the flooring which had patinated to a rich amber.
The latest addition is a full glass and metal solarium that replaced a bow window and fits exactly in the same opening. Quartzite stone was used for flooring to echo the original material in the entry - in green tones this time.
